Meditations on the Covenant Meal of Communion
Sacred + Commandment = Sacrament. A sacred commandment of love should not go neglected and a mystery of grace should not be left unexplored.
Honestly a piece of broken bread and a sip of wine is not worth getting up for in the middle of the night, BUT eating at the Table with the King as his Mephibosheth is so healing I forget that I am lame.
Do this in remembrance of Me…being remembered is not so much what we do to him at the Table, but it’s what he does to us.
Communion is the Love Feast of God the Father & the Son of Man…the world has been invited!
The covenant is between the Father and the Son, therefore it is an unbreakable union. It is into that holy love you are adopted as Their sons and daughters and were given the Spirit of God. Romans 8:14-16
He gives food to all flesh and he gives his flesh for all to have food. I offer bread & wine, he gives body & blood. It is more blessed to give than receive
Bread & Wine…remembering what our humanity receives from creation
Body & Blood…remembering what was given to create a new humanity.
