Moleskine…

moleskineI use my Moleskine to record my contemplation and formation. It is a journal of my faith, like David’s diary in the Psalms. I keep a written record in an actual Moleskine because it keeps the experience more organic, but I also keep a digital copy so that I can search across the years to find themes and topics to review more effectively. Since 2002 I have done a monthly review of the previous months entries so that I can stay current in the direction and flow of God in my life and then I also do an annual review of the my entries at the end of the year. It has been one of the best activities in my life over the past decade and in my life overall. I hope to pass on an electronic version to each of my children one day as a legacy of their father’s faith in following Jesus Christ.

Moleskine® was created as a brand in 1997, Journalbringing back to life the legendary notebook used by artists and thinkers over the past two century: among them Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway, and Bruce Chatwin. A trusted and handy travel companion, the nameless black notebook held invaluable sketches, notes, stories, and ideas that would one day become famous paintings or the pages of beloved books.
