The Bible provides wisdom and counsel for husbands and wives exclusively.
Though the world is tearing up all the photographs and blueprints of a society and a family based on the moral law of God, be not disheartened. The Church has kept the negatives.” Archbishop Fulton Sheen
Emancipation from the bondage of the soil is no freedom for the tree.” -Rabindranath Tagore
The hardest thing to do is to raise the dead while the corpse is still existing and exhaling.
There is nothing more heart wrenching than to see a withered, hollow, parched, languishing, impoverished, inanimate human spirit.
Lord Jesus breathe your life/spirit back into them and bring recognizable humanity back into the ghost town of their fearfully and wonderfully made mannequin.
Every time we use the present tense when speaking of Jesus, we declare that the tomb is empty. -Skye Jethani
Jesus did hang out with people who were lost, but he didn’t endorse their ill gotten beliefs or behavior. In fact he called them to abandon their ways and to follow him.
Jesus never “evangelized people” his form of conversion was healing and forgiveness and stories that invited people to come and become, to be and belong.

The model of the church is meant for distribution, not accumulation
Making disciples is a problem for most church planters. They never get to it, they don’t have time for it (time for you). Are you being discipled or just going to church?
I can tell you after 4 years of being out of a church desk job that people do not go to church, live or get along with their spouse or train children, they still drink too much between 30-40, women are still looking for a healthy man and men are emotionally unfaithful, their ego is strong in areas of their selfish and self centered will, they live shattered & fragile lives, they are superficial, insecure, ultra sensitive, masked, chameleons, unconverted, commercialized materialistic, blame shifters, living in adult bodies with under developed souls, etc.
Their cries are either a disguise to keep God at more than an a stiff arms length away or an unconscious plea for someone to come and rescue them and personally lead them to a God who will patiently and mercifully adopt them into his family.
Everyday we encounter and work with these individuals and there is no infomercial or purple pill, new religious method or sermon…their only hope is an incarnation of Christ’s touchable and tangible love in and through our life.
If you thought social justice, or missions or discipleship was a group church activity then the work of the gospel will never reach most people. God has called-hired-employed your life in the everyday encounters you have with real people.
We are sons of Esau, having sold our birthright for fast-food religion. It does not deeply transform the self or world.
The kingdom of God does not Include everybody, but it does Invite everybody, but the call is the same…come and die, be converted, follow and learn of me.
There is no evidence to suggest that anyone ever asked a prophet home for supper more than once. The prophets were drunk on God, and in the presence of their terrible tipsiness, no one was ever comfortable. With a total lack of tact, they roared out against phoniness and corruption wherever they found them. A prophet’s quarrel with the world is deep down a lover’s quarrel. If they didn’t love the world, they probably wouldn’t bother to tell it that it’s going to hell. They’d just let it go. Their quarrel is God’s quarrel. -Frederick Buechner
Be sure to answer a stranger if they ask you what you need. You might be talking to an angel who will be communicating with your Father of all you need.
Christianity is not a set of convictions—it is a truth. The most offensive thing imaginable. -Beautiful Outlaw
